Phuket day 1 (31 Juli 2008)

Sebenernya yang nulis ini si de'Kozzy tp karena satu dan lain hal, maka gw yang ngepost ...yo weis, let's continue the story....

From Changi to Phuket Int’l Airport , we took off using Thai Air Asia. The plane was not quite better than our-always-delayed-Air-Asia version. For one annoying reason, I had to sit in the back that time. The plane was upside down. It made me lightheaded, nausea, and finally knocked me out. The other people along for the ride also made such out loud noise and couldn’t put their buns on the seat. So, I decided to take some sleep..

About one and half hour later, we arrived at Phuket Int'l Airport . It was not a big airport but it’s quite clean with simple interior design. The weather was so H.O.T. It was a very sunny afternoon; meanwhile it was a heavy rainy day one day before we've arrived. From the airport, we were picked up by our driver. It cost 1000 baht for 7 person and baggage, one-way from airport to our lovely Korean guesthouse located at Patong Beach . It took roughly 45 minutes from airport to Patong.

Patong were so full with bars, inns, tours n travels, and some tattoo's place. We could easily find 7-11 every 100 meters, anyway. In the afternoon, the city was just like an ordinary small city. People were on the beach; swimming, sunbathing, n playing water sports. This city started to live at night.

Here, we stayed in Som Guesthouse. It was located 50 meters from Patong beach, and about 1 km from Bangla Road . It has many rooms for rent. We already ordered room with 3 beds and 4 beds. The bathroom was very clean, hot water, refrigerator with free 2 bottles of mineral water everyday, new towels everyday, tv cable, aircon, and 1 cupboard.

The price: 250 baht for 1 bed per one night.

They also had Korean restaurant, offered travel and diving too.

After we put our baggage, we came out for our super late lunch.. We found one restaurant and eat some Thai-Chinese cuisine. The prize was about 50-120 baht for the menu, much cheaper than Singapore. For some Moslem, it would be hard to find non-piggy food here. Even I found Pop Mie with Babi!!! Haha… I recommend you to eat the Tom Yum Soup (80-120 Baht). The portion was so large, so you could share it with your pals.

After we finished our meal, we went straight to the beach through Bangla Road . It was 4 o'clock, the road was still clear. So, we played in the beach swimming, taking pic, etc. Here u also could play some water sports. Since that wasn't our purpose, we just played with some waves until the sun went down. It was a gorgeous sunset..

Finally, the sunset

About 7 pm, we went to Bangla Road a.k.a jalan maksiat. The road was closed for vehicles. Since the night was still very early, this road was not so crowded. We went to Carefour first, bought some supplies, and then we decided back to that scandalously road later.

For some tips, we found some Thailand ’s t-shirt at Carefour with very very good prize without tiring bargain.

Around 10 pm, we went back to Bangla Road , yes, the Phuket night safari was on. From Australians to Arabians, from Japanese to Indonesians, lots of people were hanging around along this road. Bars, nightclubs, and also some xxx places offered us as we were walking that road. Hashish and some alcohol smells would also color the air that night. And yeah, the ladyboys are here! They offered picture taking. We paid about 100 baht for some countless spectacular poses and grabs (like my friend did). Haha..

On Bangla Road close to the beach, we also found Andaman Tour. They offered tour to Phiphi Island . After looooong bargain, we had deal on 1200 baht for one day tour. It was including:

- transportation from your hotel to the pier and back to your hotel

- one travel guide (tips were not included)

- boat: phuket-phiphi-phuket

- softdrinks on the boat

- life vest & snorkeling set

- lunch

- visiting Maya beach (some tours didn’t provide for this)

We also bought Simon Cabaret Show ticket here, 600 baht each, including:

- transportation from your hotel to the show and back to your hotel

- one regular ticket show (there was also VIP ticket)

- one mineral water with Simon Cabaret label on it (:D)

The Andaman Tour and Travel

Well, the night was getting late, though the crowd was still rockin’, we decided to went back to our inn and prepared for tomorrow: the Phiphi Island Tour.

For resume, that day I spent:

980* baht was for my due on arrivals payment and the airport picked-up service

50 baht was for my super late lunch

10 baht for mineral water bought at 7-11

24 baht for shopping some foods n drinks at Carefour

1200** baht for Phiphi Island tour

600** baht for Simon Cabaret Show ticket

26** baht for taking pic with the lady boys

* Price was valid for 7 people. If you are less than 7 people, it would be more expensive.

Previously, I paid about 135 baht for the hostel deposit on the internet.

** This price was gained after a very long and tough bargain (like I said).
