Batam – Singapore – Bintan Tour 2007 (Part 1)

Intro

Ok, maybe this is an old story and I even can’t remember perfectly about the detail of our itinerary in this trip but I feel pity if I don’t write this since this was my first trip with friends and also my first time to go abroad. This trip was held on June 5th - 13th 2007. Although I can’t remember perfectly, I’ll try hard to memorize and write this down. The member of this trip was de’Kozzy, Yudi, om Johnny, Rio, Tommy (the host) and of course me, Krishna.

Batam

Day 1

We took the flight to Batam using Airasia. The departure schedule was on 6.40 a.m. but the flight was delayed to 8.00 a.m. The flight only took about 90 minutes and we arrived at Hang Nadim at 9.30 a.m. The flight was alright and the weather was perfect. In the Batam Airport, Ci Nancy, Tommy’s relative, had already waited for us. Ci Nancy lived in Batam and she would be our guider (and driver too, actually ^^) when we were in Batam and Bintan. (many thanks to you Ci Nancy!!!). After bought ferry ticket (to Singapore), we were having lunch and then put our baggage and rest at Ci Nancy house at Bengkong area.

Our first stop in Batam was “Batam Lucky Plaza”. If you want to look for electronic devices, gadget or cell phone, you should try this place. Many people said that the price in this place is cheaper than Glodok/Mangga dua in Jakarta. But, we didn’t buy anything here. Unfortunately, I don’t have the picture of Batam Lucky Plaza.

Our second stop was KTM Resort in a beach named Tanjung Pinggir. This resort had a very nice view, clean environment, and a huge Dewi Kwan-Im statue. We had really great time here, played at the beach, took picture, and waited for the sunset. You also could see Singapore from this place.

The Sunset

After sunset, we left the resort. Our next mission is to have dinner at Baloi but before that, we stopped at the India-Hindu temple just to look around. All priest in the temple came from India. Unfortunately, we didn’t allow to take picture. At Baloi, we ate seafoods. We order ikan pari, cumi goreng tepung, shrimp, etc. We also ordered Es Koteng. I must say, the taste of the food is superb, delicious. After dinner, we went back ‘home’. Some of us slept but the others preferred to play badminton.

Day 2

We woke up very late at that day. Basically, we didn’t do anything except watching Paris Hilton movie until about 1 p.m. After that, we went to the airport to picked up Tommy’s father and Ci Ria (also Tommy’s relatives). We had Sop Ikan as our lunch. I can't remember the restaurant's name but it located not far from Batam center.

About 3 or 4 p.m., we went to another beach named Pulau Putri. Pulau Putri is one of Indonesian’s most outer island. This island is directly bordered to Singapore. In this place, we could see Singapore skyscraper much clearer than from Tanjung pinggir. To reach Pulau Putri, we must chartered a boat. We played on this island until sunset.

Tommorow, we would go to Singapore. So, we shopped at BCS mall (not BCL hehehe…) and bought some pop mie, snacks, and some stuff for our needs in Singapore. After that, we had our dinner at puja sera which filled with om-om senang and beer girls in hot pants. The food wasn’t as delicious as food at Baloi.
