There was me sitting in the plane, three o’clock in the afternoon. I still remember the *&^%$#*&^%$#@ feeling inside my heart, the brain that couldn’t stop thinking, and my heartbeat that was quite far from the word: relax. But before you know what was happened, let this final part begins with a nice story one day before I sat down in that plane.
Tuesday, June 12th 2007.
I and my friends woke up late. We already had a plan to explore some islands around Batam with our beloved tour leader—Cici Nancy. We were brought to a Buddhist Temple first and had a vegetarian lunch there. I ate rendang, perekedel, and satay made from gluten. It tasted like the real one! You must try it!
From that place, we went to explore another 2 islands near Batam island.. Let’s call it Barelang Time! Barelang is an acronym for BAtam island, RE… island (I forgot :P), and gaLAng island. These islands are connected by 2 bridges. You may see the bridge down there.. We went to a historical place where Vietnamese refugees stayed. It was kinda spooky there.. We found a very old boat that used to be used by those refugees to come into that island. We also found cemetery, church, and jail with a lot of monkeys along the road. Here are some pictures..
One of the monkey which had been captured after taking my bread and air mineral away, look at his face ...
After that we went to another temple, where I did some ciamsi things. There was a very old man who stayed there and spoke Indonesian in Chinese way.. It sounded quite funny when he explained the result. At the very end of the day, we spent our sunset time at Melur beach. We had some ‘spectacular’ photos there~with some Tau Ming Se pose: pointing something which was not really exist at the sky (ouccchh…). The beach was very very.. VERY .. far away from Batam. But it wasn’t a good beach I guess.. It’s quite dirty with some coconut and seaweed and also some plastics indeed.

draw your name on it !!!
Then.. the next day, the most irritating event EVER soon would appear..
We’d packed one night before. So our several last things to do were: wake up, take some good shower and breakfast, and whooooz straight up to the airport. Unfortunately, some OUT of agenda moments happened. Yes, it was hard for some of us to open our eyes earlier in the morning, the traffic was &^%$#@&*^*$%^, and the ticket officer acted with some f*ckery manner.
For details, actually, our flight was 08:45. We supposed to arrive and book our ticket at 08:00. And because of some great power that came from extraterrestrial out there, we went straight to the airport at 07:30. Also with unpleasant traffic, we finally arrive there at 08:15.
FIFTEEN MINUTES LATE !!!
The rule that was printed in very small letters at the backside of the ticket said that if you came late 45 minutes before your departure time, the ticket was no longer exist.
Daaaaaaamnnnn it! Well, let’s say it together: kamfretssss..
We tried to persuade the ticket officer, but NO was the only answer for us.
Let’s say it together once again: kamfretssss....
Feeling *&^%$#*&^%$#@, we finally decided to buy a new ticket to Jakarta, it costed Rp 342k.. SADSADSAD!
Yes, it was me sitting on my way home. Lots of thoughts were racing inside my heads: what if last night… what if that morning… what if the traffic… what if the ticket officer… what if this… what if that…
Sigh…
Well, finally, that moment: when I was sitting in that plane went back home, I realized that there’s no need to feel *&^%$#@#$%^&* anymore. I couldn’t turn back the time. I tried to enjoy my flight; I watched the blue skies and clouds; and let the word relax came into my heart..
In other way, we’d learnt so many things from this kamfretsss experience:
1. Don’t be too exhausted one night before your departure day.
2. Always consider the traffic jam; it does not only occur in Jakarta.
3. Arrive at least 1 hour before your departure time especially when you use Air-always-delayed-Asia.
4. Keep praying for good things !

Last words: we dedicated millions of thanks to Tommy’s family at Batam: Ci Nancy, Ci Ria & husband, Papinya Tommy, Oomnya Tommy for those very good time, for the treats, for the house, for everything! GBU all !
